From complete chassis to bolt-on and weld-on suspension systems, every Scott’s Hotrods product is 100% TIG welded, built with American-sourced materials, and engineered in-house for unmatched quality and performance. That’s the Scott’s difference.
Every Scott’s Hotrods IFS comes with a lifetime guarantee, built from premium American-sourced materials. All A-Arms and Link Bars use 1-1/8”x1/4” DOM tubing, machined for full-thread engagement with in-house CNC stainless steel rod ends. Crossmembers and frame rails are 2”x4”x3/16” wall tubing, 100% TIG welded for unmatched strength—and yes, TIG welds look amazing too.
Each and Every IFS kit built at Scott’s Hotrods is Built-To-Order. This means the kit is vehicle specific and built with the options and specs determined by the customer. This is NOT a Mustang II suspension and it is NOT a Universal Fit where the customer is left guessing.
Scott’s Hotrods knows that in order for a suspension to function properly, it must have the correct geometry. To achieve this, it must have all of its pivot points in the location they were designed to be in. The moment you change a single one of those pivot points, your suspension will cease to function as it was designed, which is the common mistake of those installing Mustang II’s in their cars.
When you order a Scott’s Hotrods suspension we start from scratch. We take all of your information like the type of vehicle, motor, track width, desired ride height and work to build you a proper suspension kit that will work best for your vehicle. Your a-arms, crossmember notch and track width will be unique to your vehicle. This will ensure that your suspension will work exactly as advertised, guaranteed!
We stand behind ALL of the parts we manufacture. Other parts that we do not manufacture such as brakes, steering racks, ball joints, brake flex lines, power steering lines, etc carry their own manufacturers warranties. We are not responsible for these items outside of their original warranty.
All of Scott’s Hotrods manufactured parts are guaranteed to be free of defects in materials & workmanship for the lifetime of the part. Scott’s Hotrods warranty is non-transferable.
Scott’s Hotrods manufactures premium Weld-On Independent Front Suspension (IFS) kits for any vehicle from 1925–1987, starting at $3,380. Custom IFS kits can be built to your unique chassis specifications. We also offer select Bolt-On IFS kits starting at $3,925 for ’48–’54 and ’55–’59 Chevy trucks, plus ’63–’87 Chevy C10 trucks.
Scott’s IFS kits deliver unmatched strength, quality, and style—no other kit looks or performs like ours. If a Bolt-On kit isn’t available for your vehicle, a Weld-On kit is the way to go.
The second consideration is vehicle compatibility and the installer’s skill level. Scott’s Hotrods Bolt-On IFS kits are available for select vehicle applications only and are ideal for builders who prefer little to no welding. Installation requires only drilling a few holes and bolting the crossmember in place.
For all other applications, our Weld-On IFS is designed to fit virtually any vehicle from 1925-1987. Installation requires welding the one-piece crossmember into the frame, making it the best choice for custom builds and vehicles not offered with a Bolt-On kit.
One final advantage of Scott’s Hotrods Bolt-On IFS is that it installs without permanently modifying the frame on applicable vehicles. If preserving the original frame is important to your project, our Bolt-On kit provides an excellent solution while delivering the same modern ride quality and handling Scott’s Hotrods is known for.

Justin Scott Padfield started Scott’s Hotrods ‘n Customs when he was 19 years old in a small 3,000-sq/ft shop in Ventura, CA. It quickly grew over the next few years to roughly 7,500-sq/ft with an additional 10,000-sq/ft shop behind the first. The owner of the property was forced to sell and Scott’s moved its entire operation to the neighboring town of Oxnard, CA in 2005. This building was about 8,000-sq/ft and was quickly bursting at the seams.
