Why is Scott’s Hotrods Different?

At Scott’s Hotrods we believe, wholeheartedly, that the key to enjoying a hotrod lies in the suspension underneath it and in making the decision to never settle for anything less than perfection.

Scott’s Hotrods Weld-On IFS with Mustang II Spindle:

This is our traditional unit designed just as we have been doing for over 20 years.  Tested and proven both on the track and on the street, this front end design allows the use of any traditional 11″ Granada brake rotors, on up to 14” Wilwood brakes.

Like all Scott’s Hotrods IFS systems, each unit will be built to spec, individually for each customer using 100% USA made materials, engineering and craftsmanship.  This allows us to “fine-tune” the suspension.  For those looking to have a tight handling coil over suspension, we can set it up to be fully tunable and adjustable to get that track handling on the weekends, and a comfortable ride for everyday use.

Scott’s Hotrods Weld-On IFS with C-10 Spindle:

Now available is the option for a C-10 spindle and brake package. For those wanting this configuration, our IFS can be built using ’73-’87 Ball-joints and a ’73-’87 C-10 spindle or CPP modular spindle. This option allows you to finally run a full size C-10 spindle. These are available complete; with or without brakes and spindles. Although most of the items are specific to our IFS and need to be bought from us direct, if you already have ’73-’87 spindles/ball-joints/brakes, you can use them.

Typically, we will build this unit with 7 degrees of caster to start, but if laying low is your style, we can set you up to run up to a 31” tall tire and still have a low frame, while maintaining superior drivability over our competitors. A Scott’s Hotrods weld-on SuperSlam IFS gets nearly 10” of total travel! If you are looking for minimum camber change throughout your total travel however, we recommend the Mustang-based spindle version.

A unique problem that is faced with this IFS system is the inherently weak and “twisty” stock frame. This problem is addressed with a one-piece crossmember that is stronger and more rigid than our competitors. Our unique frame cradles also address this issue by creating a “box” style frame section where the crossmember bolts in place.

The cradle also provides the mounting surface for your choice of motor mounts that will be welded in place assuring that your installation is 100% bolt in. Everything has been thought out, even unique features like a spherical Heim end with a right/left hand threaded junction for easy toe alignment.

There is no other 100% weld-on suspension or dropped crossmember for your ride. Scott’s Hotrods will get you installed and driving in a weekend. As always, these units are 100% TIG welded (not MIG welded) and come with Scott’s Hotrods famous lifetime guarantee.

Below, you’ll find some examples of Scott’s Hotrods Front Steer SuperSlam weld-on IFS. Remember, if you don’t see your application on our application guide, please call or e-mail us. Scott’s Hotrods can build a front steer SuperSlam weld-on on IFS for virtually any ride (including yours)!
